While the first half of this year was a little slow in terms of reading progress, I’ve definitely upped my game over the past few months. I’ve made my way through some of my long-awaited TBR items and have also read a few random books here and there as my moods have changed. Below you’ll find the best books I’ve read over the past few months, in no particular order. You can find more of the books I consider to be Great Reads here.
The Lying Game by Ruth Ware
The ultimate beach reach as the weather warms up — this is not one to be missed! It’s full of secrets and lies and creeeeepy twists, and the ending was such a shock! Loved this one.
Home Before Dark by Riley Sager
This one is my favourite book of the year so far. It’s hauntingly cinematic and so, so terrifying — I could not put it down. Very reminiscent of The Haunting of Hill House!
Verity by Colleen Hoover
This book will have you questioning everything. It’s one of those mystery thrillers that stays with you forever: mind-bending at the best of times and perspective shattering at the worst. It’s absolutely one that everyone should read.
One By One by Ruth Ware
I cannot even explain how much I enjoyed this book. It has everything I love in a thriller — multiple murders, a group of diverse characters and a chilling setting. If you love a snowed-in / whodunnit style of novel, definitely check this one out.
