My favourite LUSH face masks

My favourite LUSH face masks

One of the best ways to #treatyourself is to indulge in a bit of a pamper. If it were a perfect world [and if I were more organised] I’d be doing two face masks every day – one in the morning and one in the evening – but it just doesn’t work that way, so I take what I can get, ya know?

I have a special place in my heart for LUSH face masks and I’ve been using them for years! I wouldn’t say they give me immediate results, but I feel like the continued use of them improves the overall look and feel of my skin tenfold.

I really enjoy sharing what I’m using and loving for my skin, and I guess face masks factor into that! Most people wouldn’t reaaaally consider them as an essential skincare item – but I do! Whenever my skin is feeling dry, I use a face mask. Whenever I have acne, I use a face mask! I don’t know how they work, and I kinda wish I did… but hey! It’s science, right?

LUSH Face Masks - A Girl & Grey

First things first: Mask of Magnaminty. I feel like this product has achieved cult status within the LUSH community, and that’s because it’s just so damn good. I reach for this mask whenever I have a breakout. No matter the size or severity, daily use of this mask means it clears up in no time at all. Mask of Magnaminty has honey, kaolin clay, mint and bentonite gel and its cooling/tingly effect makes it perfect for a summer pamper!

Up next we have Catastrophe Cosmetic, and this is another mask I reach for whenever I’m having any breakouts or congestion issues. Its blueberry based formula works to soothe and cleanse the skin, while calamine, chamomile and almonds polish off any dead skin or impurities. I find I churn through this mask really quickly compared to the others, but it’s one of those products that I can always see myself having a pot or two of in case my skin turns ugly overnight.

BB Seaweed is the mask I reach for when my skin is looking dull and boring. I find it brightens and revives the skin with continued use, and the rosemary oil also works to keep breakouts at bay. As you can probably tell by the name, this mask contains seaweed which is full of minerals that help the skin look healthy, and it also provides a protective barrier over the skin with continued use. I love this one.

If you’ve got dry skin, Oatifix is the mask you need. It smells like banana cake and contains oats and illipe butter, which are intensely nourishing and moisturising. I find that after I use this product my skin is super soft and bouncy, and any lines that I have appear less severe. Did I mention the smell? Banana. Cake. This is definitely the nicest mask to use because its so gentle and yum.

And the last LUSH mask that I keep in my collection at all times is Love Lettuce. This mask contains lavender, seaweed and almond shells, so you can imagine that it’s kind of a powerhouse for soothing, exfoliating and moisturising the skin. I actually just saw that LUSH is discontinuing this mask soon, so if you’re yet to try it I would really recommend giving it a go!

Love the sound of Mask of Magnaminty, I think it will right up my street. I can’t wait to get down to my nearest Lush and get it. I have never tried any of their facemasks and I feel like this is definitely a good one to start with. Thanks so much!

These sound sooo good, particularly Oatfix!! I love banana bread/cake so this sounds right up my alley. I haven’t tried any masks from Lush but I really need to.

Haha, nice to know! I’ve had my cup o’ joe mask for like… two years now?! and it seems fine haha. I was just wondering since I don’t think it’s considered a “fresh” fresh face mask, thanks!

can I ask how you keep your face masks btw?? iirc they’re only supposed to last two weeks or so and I’m surprised you have so many!
